Boston, July 4th, Hospital Beds, and Hikes

June 17th-July 17th
Alrighty, people. As you can see (per the title of this entry), this time of the summer was an eventful one! These pictures aren't really in a particular order, but I've attempted to group them by category...soo...buckle up! :)

Boston!
We went to Boston the weekend of the fourth (though we were home by the actual fourth). Anthon was a champ on the car ride and we had an awesome time. We stayed at a hotel, traded off times going to the temple, rode a Subway into the heart of Boston, and walked around Boston Public Gardens.
Anthon was up at 3AM and happy to see us, from his porta-crib. After attempting to get him to go back to sleep for two hours, I finally tossed in the towel at about 5 AM and went down to walk around downstairs so at least one of us could get some sleep :)

Anthon spotted an O on the subway...

And....is apparently tall enough to open doors now! Matthew spent the time I was at the temple partying with Anthon, who decided his not sleeping on hotel room philosophy extends to naps as well. They went on an overpass and got trucks and cars to honk at them as they drove by. Anthon was in HEAVEN.

Boston Public Gardens...

And a VERY tired boy on our way home...

July 4th
There was a whole event here in Clifton Park--rides, a parade, live music, fireworks, etc... We hung out from late afternoon until the fireworks. Anthon LOVED them and was begging for more. To avoid traffic, we left a little early; however, he could see them out the back window of our car as we drove away and it further more made his night.

Also...we took our first "official" to-be (2nd) pregnancy announcement.
While we're on the topic of this pregnancy...

Hospital Stay!
Yep. I spent a lovely two days in the hospital after having blood in my urine at my monthly OB appointment. I went home after my initial appointment, since I had no other symptoms and my urine culture would take two days to be processed. However, I got horrible cramps late that night and was throwing up because of the pain. After calling my doctor the next afternoon (and Matthew staying home from work to help with Anthon, as I could barely stand), we went to the emergency room.

With non-typical symptoms, they ran tests on me (which were limited, because I'm pregnant), kept me on pain meds (also limited, due to previous parentheses), and, well, yes--admitted me. The theories ranged from UTIs, kidney stones, bladder stones, to a mass. Yes. It's great to hear that word thrown around....
I've decided hospital stays are not for me. Being away from our little guy was so, so hard! I'm almost never away from him--and I didn't realize how completely attached we are (or I am, more specifically) to having him by my side for roughly 10 hours a day. Thankfully, there is facetime...but, at the same time, I think it almost makes it harder not to be home with my two men, seeing them through the screen and not being there with them.
With my multitude of tests, came a few silver linings--two ultrasounds and some extra monitoring of baby girl--all of which resulted in technicians and nurses being AMAZED at how much she moves around in there. Apparently, she's still as busy as ever! And, healthy, more importantly.

At the end of the two days, my pain migrated to my back, and then disappeared. Though they never found a kidney stone, because they located liquid outside my kidneys during my ultrasounds, that was the theory they chose to run with. I'll take it. Over the mass one, especially :)

In my absence, Matthew introduced Anthon to a few new awesome things..
A blanket ramp. That, for a solid 2 months thereafter was ALL Anthon wanted to do. To this day, we still use it :)

Batman. Yes. Batman shirt, batman bowl, and learning to say 'ba-man' in a low, awesome voice.
And....just lots and lots of daddy-son time. Anthon and Matthew were both in heaven :)

Hoses, Water, Pools, and Outside
Have I mentioned how much I love Summer? Um. I. LOVE. SUMMER. Also, so does Anthon.

Hikes
We went on a local hike (Plotter's Kill) two separate times, and then up to the Adirondacks with Matthew's coworker and his kiddos. Anthon LOVES hiking. Particularly, when he can smack the trailmarkers on the trees with sticks Matthew gives him, after which he'd put his arms in the air and say, 'Victory, Victory!!'
We have a version of this picture where Anthon's eyes are open and looking at the camera, I just can't seem to locate it currently...

Matthew is seriously the best dad. From pictures like this, to running down mountains with Anthon strapped to his back--allowing me to watch my two boys bounce up and down, and Anthon giggles hysterically--his 'dadhood' really is the best. I don't know if I could ever find Anthon person who works so hard to make life fun, entertaining, and awesome for a 19 month old.
snake sighting..

rock throwing..

A tired little man, yet, somehow, still one of my favorite pictures..

and reading on the way home...

Other Tidbits...
Anthon decided he loves laying in his soccer goal. He'd often lay in it, and then point next to him on the ground inside it for us to come lay with him, particularly just before nap times, with his bink and blanket in tow :)

We did some house hunting this month...Anthon, fittingly, is mean mugging, as it was not his favorite way to spend his time.
Homeboy developed a deep rooted LOVE for this here teddy bear this month. After discovering him in my closet, he wanted to take him everywhere. But, only after making sure I put shoes on him. On car rides, walks, you name it. He'd call him '(t)ed'--for teddy bear. Seriously his BFF this month. Also, look who decided he's old enough to push his car around! Does this picture not scream 'ready to be a big brother?!' or what? Maybe not...
But, if it doesn't, it definitely screams...
'I'M ADORABLE'...or something like unto it...
We got some handy-downs this month. Two of which were Cars clothes. Anthon was SO excited when he saw them and wanted to put them on right away.
Ladybugs were another favorite...

One day I hammered down our nails on our balcony. Anthon LOVED it, and for about two weeks thereafter would do a hammer motion and say 'bang bang bang' to indicate he wanted to go hammer with me. I'd grab both the real hammer, and his little man hammer and we'd go to work :)

 Helping mama make cookies...
I'm well aware this isn't the most flattering picture of me, but it needed to be documented. Anthon LOVES cookie dough and, quite adorably, tries to stick his finger in it far too early. However, he's such a good listener that, when I tell him to wait, he does. But, when he does get the green light, it's all I can do to keep him from going hog-wild on that stuff :P

Homeboy loves some snuggles watching Curious George or Clifford

BUMPS are a new favorite this month. He lovessss the speed bumps in our complex. We walked to them one day and it was one of the cutest things--Anthon turned around backwards (like he does to go down stairs or get off the couch) about two feet in front of the speed bump, and proceeded to back himself all the way up and over the speed bump. His hands and knees just crack me up in these pictures.

Diapers and toilet paper were on sale at Target this month....
Goodness I love my husband. hahaha.

A love of puddles still abounds...
It will be so sad to ever move somewhere without our awesome torrential rain downpours!
Some more hats and cars....

And, of course, rock throwing.
And, some more saying 'please'. hahaha. Yes. This is his please face.

And, as I mentioned before, a LOVEEEEEEEE of this here bear.
I repeat, LOVE.

Other Favorites this month
-Mom putting him down (if he thought Matthew was going to put him down, he'd point to Matthew's chest, look up at him, and wave goodbye while frantically saying 'bye, byeeeee!')
-Helicopter (Matthew has a remote control helicopter he would especially request. haha. Then, after it was out and flying overhead, Anthon would often quickly change his mind, and wave goodbye while saying, 'bye, byeeee!' to said helicopter.) He'd also start making a helicopter noise a whole two pages before the helicopter in 'Go Dog Go' appeared.
-Go Dog Go
-Helping me cook, clean, and do laundry
-Going swimming (which I decided I need to do with Matthew, because I get a heart attack every two freaking seconds with him running around the edges of the pool!)
-Bike ride/runs with mom and dad after Matthew gets home from work (Matthew runs and I ride, with Anthon in the bikeseat. Matthew spends half the run jumping up and down, making faces at Anthon. Anthon, not surprisingly, lovesssss it).
-Helping people leave our house when he's decided it's that time. haha. Our home teacher was visiting and, after about an hour, Anthon walked over to the door, pointed down at his shoes, back at our home teacher, and waved/said 'byeeee'.
-Having me play with him (He sits on the ground, by his cars, and says 'mah' (mom) and points to the floor next to him, showing me where he wants me to sit and play with him). If he's about to go and play, he'd also put an open palm on my chest, indicating he wanted me to come with him. Cutest thing EVERRRRR.
-Goldfish. (He makes fish noises and says 'goa' to ask for them)
-Finding bugs around the house (he points them out, says 'buh, buh!' and then Matthew or I will get a piece of paper, scoop up the bug, and put it outside for him. Sometimes, he won't actually see a bug, but want to go on a bug hunt and find one around the house to put out.)
-Milo and Otis (Since it's real animals, I feel it's at least approachingggg educational and I don't mind it as much as I'd mind him watching other things :P
-Nursery! Okay, not actually a favorite, but an update nonetheless. We got to the point where I could give him a kiss goodbye after playing with him for ten minutes there, and he'd just look around, smile at the nursery leaders, and go back to playing as I left!

Another great month with our fun, charismatic boy and my entertaining, hard-working hubbykins.

Maybe I'll have my blog up to speed by the time baby girl comes?

Matthew just came over and asked me if this was my first or second blogpost of the night. Hilarious Matthew, HILARIOUS.

haha. Love you all!
Thanks for reading! <3
